Deanna Paik, owner of Deschutes Gallery, was born in Canada and raised on Vancouver Island in Courtenay, British Columbia, where many of the Northwest Native Artists reside. Recently moving to the United States, she wanted to stay connected to her homeland, and wanted to promote these artists in the US and decided to open Deschutes Gallery. Relatively new in the gallery business, she uses her local knowledge of her homeland and direct communication with artists in finding unique Native Art pieces to display in her gallery. With her Metis heritage she finds great reward in educating customers on the history and culture of Native American Art. She currently has full time agents representing Deschutes Gallery to locate additional artwork all throughout British Columbia, Canada.
